At the community meeting, the proud villagers want to show the poor refugees what democracy is. When a dispute over a vote escalated there, the women quickly abolished men's right to vote by majority vote and replaced the mayor with his wife. Out of defiance, the men join the refugees in the church, where the women have nothing to say.
