Upon arriving back on Earth, Lieutenant Colonel Remus receives urgent orders from General Thomas MacBain: the Oregonda is to take part in a top-secret cloaking experiment in deep space, led by the brilliant but enigmatic Professor Lieutenant Colonel William Sencor, one of Star Force Galactic Command's most renowned scientists. But once the mission begins, everything spirals out of control. A catastrophic failure during the experiment tears through space-time itself, hurling the Oregonda and her crew violently into the past.
